Melbourne finished the Australian Baseball League regular season with a 6-3 victory over Perth on Saturday night.

The Aces grabbed a split of the four-game series as Darryl George and Michael Crouse went deep in a game-breaking five-run fourth at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark.

Trailing 2-0, Crouse started the fourth with a homer and Jared Cruz pulled Melbourne level on a sacrifice fly.

George then put the Aces up with a three-run blast off Heat starter Matt Kennelly.

The homer was George's fifth of the series and number 11 on the season.

Melbourne starter Matthew Larkins worked five innings, striking out four as he gave up two earned runs on five hits.

Kennelly, who entered the contest without allowing an earned run in 13 innings, gave up five runs including four unearned.

He punched out three in six complete innings.

Perth took a 2-0 lead on Jake Fraley's 50th run of the season and Jake Bowey's second-inning homer.

Tim Kennelly drove in Ryan Kift (triple) for the Heat's third run during the fifth.

But George drove in an insurance run for the Aces in the top of the ninth.

Reliever Christian Meister kept Perth scoreless in the bottom-half of the frame.

Melbourne will travel to Brisbane for a best-of-three semi-final series at Holloway Field next weekend.

The Heat host Canberra in a best-of-three series with the winner advancing to the ABL Championship Series.
