Koura, Chiang named Players of the Week
01/02/2018 6:15 PM ET

Bite starter Ryo Koura and Blue Sox slugger Chiang Chih-hsien had exceptional weekends for their respective teams, and have been crowned Delta Players of the Week for Round 6.

Taiwanese native Chiang Chih-hsien has been a revelation in the middle of the Sydney Blue Sox lineup this season, clubbing seven home runs and 29 RBI in the first 23 games of his ABL career.

Chiang finished round six with seven hits, nine RBI and has reached base in 22 of 23 games this season.

In his first start for the Adelaide Bite, righty Ryo Koura had it all to do, facing the dominant Brisbane Bandits on their home deck.

Koura was unfazed, punching out 12 Bandits hitters and only giving up two earned runs in his seven innings of work.

Koura was instrumental in securing the Bite's first series split of 2017/18, as Adelaide walked away with two wins against the defending champions.
