It's recruiting season at Aces HQ and we're kicking off this season with a BANG, welcoming Major League veteran DELMON YOUNG to the Melbourne Aces for season 2017/18.

While it's playoff season in the US, what better way to kick off this year's announcements than with a former American League Championships Series MVP in Delmon Young who boasts career numbers as good as anyone who's spent ten-plus years at Major League level.

In 1,118 career games with five Major League Franchises (Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Detroit, Philadelphia and Baltimore), Delmon Young has chalked up 1,162 hits including 109 home runs. His consistency and impact at the plate highlighted by a .283 career average.

At 31 years of age (he'll be 32 by Opening Day), Delmon Young represents arguably the biggest name to head down under to play in the ABL. The #1 overall draft pick in the 2003 draft has spent the last 12 months out of the game and is looking at a stint in the ABL to resurect his Big League career.

Young will arrive in Melbourne in early November and early indications from Jon Deeble suggst that Young is committed to helping promote and grow the game in Australia and will only enhance Melbourne's reputation as a destination Club.
