The Australian Women's National Baseball Team are no strangers to success. They won a silver medal in the 2010 World Cup. This week the Canberra "UberGlobal" Cavalry play host to the team as they prepare for the 2012 Women's World Cup, 10-19 August, in Edmonton, Canada.

The women, from all over Australia, started training at the Narrabundah Baseball Complex on Monday morning. They will continue to train throughout the week, culminating in a game on Thursday at noon. The game will be open to the public to showcase the great talent that these women display.

"We are happy to host this training camp," Cavalry Assistant General Manager Thom Carter said. "There are many women and girls playing baseball here in the ACT. This is a great opportunity for our community to see how well the women's game can be played and have your youngsters strive to wear the Green and Gold as they get older."

Thursday night the Cavalry have invited the Women's National team to be their guests at the game against the Sydney Blue Sox. Prior to the game the team will be introduced to the fans on the field, with the MVP of the camp throwing out the first pitch. Fans of every age will be able to get autographs during the early innings of the game from these high performance athletes.
